okonomiyaki

On our last night in Tokyo we had okonomiyaki. We cooked it ourselves on a big griddle and despite clear instructions and our peaking at others around us ours didn't turn out as pretty. But it was still delicious! You pick your own ingredients and we shared one with pork and squid. On top is okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise and katsuobushi (thin shavings of dried fish).

ReplyDeleteI live for okonomiyaki and as a matter of fact I invited some friends over last saturday to have a huge okonomiyaki dinner. Actually, I just made two large okonomiyaki out of the leftovers, just some 30 min before reading your entry.
Seriously, when I lived in Japan for a year, the okonomiyaki place close to my apartment with the all you can eat for 2 hours, I practically lived there...
I totally feel like sending you a gift right now, ha.
