Here we go. It took me a few days to finally prioritize my DSLR over Instagram (silly me), so I don't have that many photos from our first days in Chicago. We started with a breakfast special and a walk downtown that ended with a broken shoe, then we visited my sister at her college (where I also studied four years ago) and had Libanese food for lunch in the area. Walking around campus felt really weird for me. It was no longer "my" campus; it was like I was seeing it for the first time even though it looked exactly the same. I guess it's me that has changed.

  1. I live in Chicago and have been following your blog for about a year now. I love all your pics! And welcome to Chicago! I hope you have a good trip. If you love coffee, go to Intelligentsia and Molly's Cupcakes has the best cupcakes in the city. And La Madia has amazing pepperoni pizza :)

  3. i'm so glad you got to revisit your old campus...i think it's a learning experience to see things through different eyes, even if it's something so familiar you'd know it anywhere. i love your shots for just this...so many different angles and ways of seeing the familiar (including your sister!). i can't wait for the next installment of chicago shots! :)

  4. I love every one of these pictures, though maybe "OH O" is my favourite. Or maybe the buildings with all the round balconies...? Actually, I can't decide.

  5. Artists are destined to become depressed, which in turn fuels their art which fills them with happiness. Then the whole cycle repeats itsself. Not a bad bargain when you have a collection of work as beautiful as you have produced.
