Back to NYC posts. One morning we took the tramway to Roosevelt Island and back. There's nothing to see on the island, but the views from the tram car were well worth the zero dollars (we had a 7 day MTA card), with a sudden 30 second swaying standstill over 2nd Avenue included.

I have been a follower of your posts for a long time now, but don't know if I've ever commented on your lovely photos before.
ReplyDeleteI lived in Queens, on the other side of Roosevelt Island from Manhattan, for a long time and I loved to ride my bike over there. There's actually an amazing history to the island (with a small pox hospital, a "lunatic asylum," and a penitentiary all making their homes there at one point or another) and gorgeous ruins of the small pox hospital to see on the south end. If you make it back there, you should check it out again.
Thanks for your always inspiring shots!
