going west
In one week I will wake up in a city that owns a piece of my heart: Chicago. This time around will be very different. I'll be staying in a hotel downtown, not in a college dorm or with friends, my mom and my sister will be with me and the good friends I'll be seeing are also just visiting. I feel like I'm a completely different person than I was three or four years ago, and my perspective on a lot of things has changed. When I lived in Chicago I hadn't yet fallen in love with NYC, Berlin and Tokyo. I hope I still like it as much as I once did. Speaking of NYC, we're going there too! I can't wait.
I'm eager to go thrifting in both these cities so I'd love to know if you know of any good flea markets and thrift/junk/second hand stores (I'm not interested in carefully curated and expensive vintage shops, but the kind of stores where you have to dig through piles of kinda gross stuff to find the gems)! Café and restaurant suggestions are also very welcome.
