Småland is at its best this weekend. Today we spent the morning baking gingerbread cookies, then I, my sister, my brother and his girlfriend took a walk in the perfect winter weather. Rosy cheeks, snow squeaking underneath our boots, sunshine, fir trees heavy with snow: it was a great walk.

  7. We had a slight taste of winter this week here in the Seattle area, but we're back to our regular late-fall rain. How nice to see what real winter looks like! And I can almost smell those fir trees.
